That said, there are a lot of horror stories out there about people who have contracted nasty infections from tattoos at some sketchy places. Some tattoo artists do not use safe practices when it comes to needles that carry blood-borne pathogens into their clients’ skins, exposing them to severe infections like hepatitis C and HIV. Local jurisdictions across the US have implemented regulations to safeguard tattoo recipients to curb that and prevent things like that from happening again. The extent of regulation varies significantly from state to state, with some adopting stringent laws and others being lax in their requirements.

As a tattoo artist and industry advocate, Ben Shaw believes all stakeholders should be involved in formulating laws and regulations governing body art. “I have a passion for proper regulation. Unfortunately, so many within the tattoo industry have zero desire to learn or participate in regulations and law-making, which allows outside entities and regulators to take advantage and misregulate body art,” Shaw shares.

Shaw is not one to wait and watch as things go wrong in his industry. Instead, he’s taken it upon himself to change the industry incrementally. Shaw is a community builder, getting tattoo artists and supportive communities to rally together for common goals. He is the co-founder of the Guild of Ethical Tattooists, an educational organization that spends time educating the community about body art’s health and safety concerns. As a co-founder, Shaw oversaw a union of artists and advocated for the much-needed regulations of ethical tattooing practices. The Guild of Ethical Tattooists is an advocacy group for the Board of Body Art Practitioners, the regulatory body that governs the licensure of all body artists in New Mexico.

Ben Shaw and the GET were instrumental in creating the Board of Body Art Practitioners through Senate Bill 275, which they championed through the 2015 legislative sessions in New Mexico. Before its formation, body artists were licensed by the New Mexico Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists, where Shaw sat as the only tattoo artist. Shaw recognized the immense need for proper regulations specific to the tattoo industry and championed the creation of the Body of Body Art Practitioners. The board monitors the licensure of tattoo artists, guiding expectations of cleanliness and professionalism within the tattoo industry. Shaw retired as chairman of the Board Of Body Art Practitioners in 2019 but currently sits on the Boards rules committee.

He is now active with the Tattoo Smart LaunchPAD, a Members Only platform for vetted tattoo professionals. Shaw currently serves as the Admiral for the Advocacy and Standards group within the LaunchPAD. Ultimately, he’s becoming a tattoo industry advocate, helping artists from around the country and world navigate tattoo regulations and be a voice to stop over-regulation and inspire safe tattooing.

The post has 60,162,766 likes, surpassing the original goal of 18 million. 

Despite the meme going viral several years ago, the team at Just An Egg saw potential for a new meme application. Many memes are jumping to cryptocurrency, and enthusiasm for meme coins has not waned. Enthusiasts follow coins like Dogecoin because of their unpredictability and the community built by their cult following. The world_record_egg Instagram account still has more than 4.7 million followers, and the brand has been putting out hints at a comeback. This large fanbase is excited to see where the egg will take them next.

Acquiring the World Record Egg IP and social media accounts is an intriguing next step in the meme’s journey. The $1,000,000 sale indicates the meme’s value, showing interested investors the vast potential of this project. When the owners of the World Record Egg IP decided to sell, a 24-hour $2,000,000 capped presale was held publicly for holders to take part in purchasing the World Record Egg. This presale sold out in just 12 hours, which illustrates the world’s excitement to see the meme revived. New posts on the egg’s social media accounts have done well, and anticipation is only growing for the egg’s debut on the Solana blockchain.

The crypto community is sure to rally around the new currency. Like Dogecoin and other prominent meme coins, Just An Egg has a playful ethos that appeals to various investors. A: “When I started, I still didn’t have the skill sets as a network marketer, and so the first five years were very difficult and a struggle for me as I had to learn that it’s not about telling people what to do, but about showing people what should be done. In my profession as a retailer, it was telling people what to do because I had people working for me. But in network marketing, nobody works for you.”

The Challenges of Building a Team

Q: What were some of the significant challenges you faced in the beginning?

A: “As a network marketer who started 13 years ago not knowing anything about this industry, there was nothing I could sell. But I wasn’t able to build a team. So I was able to build and create turnover and sales, but three months later, those customers would be gone.”

The Philosophy Behind The Ultimate Business (TUB)

Q: Can you share the core philosophy behind TUB?

A: “I’ve put a name to that business model of mine, which is TUB. TUB stands for The Ultimate Business. It’s a brand name I’ve come up with over many years and is a movement that exemplifies the power of disruptive entrepreneurship and pushing boundaries while also empowering others to realize their full potential.

Overcoming Personal and Professional Struggles

Q: Reflecting on your journey, what personal and professional struggles did you have to overcome?

A: “My struggle in the beginning was creating other leaders, developing other leaders, and learning other skill sets because I thought I was going to be the superstar all the time. But if you are the only superstar, then you’re the one doing all the work. And I had to realize and understand that. So I had to learn to delegate.”

The Future of Leadership and Entrepreneurship

Q: Looking forward, how do you see the future of leadership and entrepreneurship?

A: “It’s about helping people. I could not understand that principle in the beginning. It’s about helping others—I also could not understand that initially. Those are some of the toughest things that I had to go through. And obviously, you hold on to your leaders; make sure that your leaders stay with you and remain connected with you.”
