Grayson Thorne Kilpatrick Takes on a Role in Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story
Grayson Thorne Kilpatrick, a young and talented actor, has made a notable entrance into the second season of Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. In this gripping anthology series created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, Grayson plays a crucial role in Episode 1, where he embodies a trick-or-treater who engages in a verbal confrontation with Lyle Menendez, portrayed by Nicholas Alexander Chavez. This pivotal scene is essential to the overarching storyline, as it serves to illuminate Lyle’s personality and foreshadow the complex dynamics that will unfold throughout the series.
Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story delves into the infamous case of the Menendez brothers, who shocked the nation when they murdered their parents in Beverly Hills on August 20, 1989. The series examines the events leading up to the brutal slayings and the subsequent trials, during which the brothers cited years of abuse as their motive. However, prosecutors argued that their true motivation was to inherit their family’s wealth. This high-profile case captivated public attention in the ’90s, making it a fitting subject for the latest installment of the Monsters anthology.
Grayson Thorne Kilpatrick’s character is more than just a background figure; he is instrumental in revealing the darker aspects of Lyle Menendez’s character. The confrontation not only highlights Lyle’s volatile nature but also sets the tone for the series’ exploration of the brothers’ troubled upbringing and the psychological factors that led them to commit such heinous acts. Grayson’s performance adds depth to the narrative, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the societal implications surrounding the Menendez case.

Grayson Thorne Kilpatrick was born on April 1, 2004, in Huntsville, Alabama. Despite the playful jests associated with his April Fool’s Day birthday, his dedication to acting has remained serious and unwavering. Throughout his teenage years, Grayson has built an impressive resume, appearing in a variety of student films, independent projects, and television shows. His past credits include roles in Documentary Now!, Chicken Girls: The Movie, This Isn’t Working, Daddy’s Home, and Outcast on Cinemax and the independent film Vikes. He has also made appearances in Netflix’s production of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, Adult Swim’s Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell, and FX’s American Horror Story.
In addition to his role in Monsters, Grayson is set to showcase his talents in the TBS/Roku Channel sitcom Chad, where he takes on a recurring role as Ethan. The series, which humorously follows the life of a 14-year-old Persian boy navigating high school challenges, has received positive feedback and was renewed for a second season which introduced the character, Ethan. Grayson expresses his gratitude for this opportunity, acknowledging the welcoming environment created by the cast and crew.
Grayson’s journey into acting began unexpectedly after a traumatic home invasion led his parents to enroll him in Child Play Therapy. This experience ignited his passion for the performing arts. His first film role came in Space Warriors in 2013, and since then, he has trained extensively under the guidance of notable acting coaches in the southeast US and eventually in Hollywood. His dedication led him to move to Los Angeles in 2016 to pursue acting full-time, and he has been a proud member of SAG-AFTRA ever since.

Beyond acting, Grayson is also a writer and director. In 2017, he wrote the SAG short film John Foley: Motivationally Speaking, which earned him a Best Actor award at the Young Artist Awards. Aspiring to broaden his acting range, he draws inspiration from acclaimed actors such as James McAvoy and Robert Downey Jr., seeking roles that challenge his versatility across different genres.
Looking ahead, Grayson will be filming a comedy horror project titled Marriage Bites, where he will serve as an actor and director intern. This film follows the comedic yet thrilling journey of a couple facing unexpected challenges when one of them becomes a vampire.
Starring alongside actors like Ashley Hargrove and Joe Komara, this project is set to begin filming in early November in Huntsville, Alabama, and at Thunderdome Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, audiences can anticipate Grayson’s appearance in an upcoming STARZ TV series and a studio film early next year.
Represented by Luber Roklin Entertainment in Los Angeles and People Store Talent Agency in Atlanta, Grayson Thorne Kilpatrick continues to evolve his craft, driven by a genuine love for acting rather than the allure of fame. His role in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story marks an exciting chapter in his career, displaying his talent and commitment to storytelling.

Devyn Dalton Shines as Cosmo in the Anticipated Film “The Electric State”
In the highly anticipated film “The Electric State”, Devyn Dalton takes on the compelling role of Cosmo, a character that resonates deeply with audiences through his unique blend of childlike innocence and profound trauma. Devyn describes Cosmo as one of her favorite characters, emphasizing the contrast between his youthful curiosity and the challenges he faces. To authentically portray Cosmo, she had to shed her adult perspectives, embracing a fresh viewpoint that made the experience both challenging and rewarding.
Working alongside the esteemed Russo Brothers, known for their visionary storytelling, was an extraordinary experience for Devyn. She appreciated their clear vision for the film while also valuing the creative freedom they fostered among the cast. This collaborative atmosphere, particularly within the movement troupe, was crucial in bringing the robotic characters to life. The Russo Brothers’ leadership cultivated a spirit of teamwork essential for the film’s success.

A standout moment for Devyn on set was the opportunity to recreate a cherished photo with co-star Millie Bobby Brown, with whom she had previously worked in 2013. Having served as Millie’s stunt double in earlier projects like *Once Upon a Time in Wonderland* and *Intruders*, their shared history made filming *The Electric State* a special reunion, allowing them to connect during emotionally charged scenes.
To prepare for her role as Cosmo, Devyn worked extensively with movement coach Terry Notary and the movement troupe. Her preparation involved a thorough exploration of the physicality required to embody a robot. She focused on shedding her adult instincts to adopt a childlike perspective while also recognizing Cosmo’s intelligence. The motion capture process was vital in translating her movements to the screen, requiring her to relearn how to walk and move within a robotic body.

The film’s themes resonate deeply with Devyn, particularly the bond between Michelle and Cosmo. At its core, *The Electric State* tells a story about love and the lengths people go to for family, mirroring Devyn’s own values regarding human connection. Additionally, the film addresses the evolving relationship between humans and artificial intelligence, a topic increasingly relevant in today’s society.
The dynamic between Cosmo and Michelle begins with tension but quickly grows into a powerful bond. Devyn believes their journey is both sweet and impactful, and she anticipates that audiences will connect with the emotional depth of their relationship.
Notably, the film is recognized for its distinctive visual style, inspired by the graphic novel on which it is based. Devyn found the artwork significantly influenced her portrayal of Cosmo. The design of Cosmo as an older, clunky robot with tiny legs and a large head provided a foundation for exploring his movements. This physicality was essential to her performance, shaping how Cosmo interacts with the world around him.
However, portraying a robot presented its own challenges. Devyn faced the difficulty of embodying a mechanical character while maintaining subtlety in her performance. Communicating through body language and limited facial expressions required precision, making this aspect of her role both demanding and rewarding.
Playing Cosmo had a profound impact on Devyn, particularly in her understanding of non-verbal communication. She discovered how much can be conveyed through body language alone, enriching her skills as an actress. This experience deepened her appreciation for the nuances of performance, especially when portraying a character with limited verbal expression.
As audiences await the film’s release, Devyn hopes they will find joy and escapism in *The Electric State*. She is eager for viewers to recognize the incredible work of motion capture actors, emphasizing that there is a real human behind each robotic character.
Looking ahead, Devyn remains open to exploring diverse roles and genres that tell compelling stories. She is passionate about the art of storytelling and excited to continue her journey as an actress.
While she cannot disclose too much about Cosmo’s backstory, Devyn hints that his journey involves learning to navigate his robotic existence, adding depth and vulnerability to his character. One of her favorite scenes captures Cosmo’s childlike wonder as he adjusts to his new reality, beautifully showcasing the essence of the character.
As the release date approaches, Devyn expresses her excitement and pride in the project. She reflects on the immense effort and heart that the cast and crew poured into bringing “The Electric State” to life, eagerly anticipating audiences’ reactions as they fall in love with Cosmo.
