Direct From Hollywood: Plastic Surgeon Dr Michael K Newman Gives us the Have’s and the Have Not’s From The Cannes Film Festival
Article by Cyan Leigh Dacasin
Every year in the month of May celebrities and film-makers alike gather along the Mediterranean in the little town of Cannes on the French Riviera. The Cannes film festival is known around the globe as the first stop and possibly the last for a filmmaker to display their artistry in hopes to sell their projects to the highest bidder.
While the festival is about the business of films, in recent history most of the worldwide attention has been taken up with the who’s who walking the red carpet and what they are wearing. Designers’ careers have been made on this small stretch of carpet along with a budding celebrities star power. But just as it can enhance their “gifts” for style and beauty it can also damper the shine when overdone and or underwhelming.
The critics were out this season singing praises and destroying reputations alike when it comes to dresses, hair and makeup. But the stakes are so high that many stars are getting a refresh before they take that stroll under the global microscope. We asked Dr Michael K Newman, Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and international commentator on the infamous “refresh” to weigh in on the Cannes and Cannes not’s of this year’s festivities.

Sydney Sweeney is a gorgeous actress who has charmed us with her good looks for several years. Many have claimed she had plastic surgery, but she has denied any procedures. I agree with her claims. She is all natural and looks fantastic, as always.
She may have had a touch of Botox, but nothing more, and I’m sure she will be able to continue to show off her good looks for years to come. Interestingly, she does have some mild
drooping of her upper eyelids, known technically as eyelid ptosis. This can be attractive and may be part of her good looks for now, but that can change with age, so she may decide to get that addressed in the future.”

“Johnny Depp had a tune-up to get him red-carpet-ready. He had some filler to his cheeks, temples, jawline, and Botox. It looks good overall, although slightly overfilled. He looks better than he would have if he had done nothing, so I applaud him for doing maintenance to keep him looking fresh.”

“Lisa Opie is officially the plastic surgery disaster of the Cannes Film Festival this year. She is unrecognizable. Her natural beauty has been replaced with a very fake and overdone look. She definitely had several surgeries to complete her transformation, including forehead reduction with hairline advancement and browlift giving her abnormally high eyebrows that flare laterally.
Additionally, she had rhinoplasty and facial volume augmentation with either filler or fat to her cheeks, temples, and lips. She had too much done, ruining her elegant natural beauty.”
Lady Victoria Hervey, who is a client, represents natural, attractive, and elegant beauty. Her facial shape and proportions match her body. Victoria’s stunning cheekbones and jawline look authentic. If she had any facial fillers, it was done tastefully and subtly. We know that she has had some Botox and skin care, which have helped her maintain a youthful look without appearing fake or overdone.

“Ashley Graham is a stunning plus-size model that rocked the red carpet at Cannes this year. One of the benefits of having some extra body weight is that some of this weight gets distributed to the face also. People on the heavier side tend to age less in their faces than very skinny people.
This is because having some additional facial fat provides a fuller appearance that is more youthful. Ashley’s appearance is all-natural. She has retained excellent facial shape and harmony without any fillers because she has natural fat in her face that keeps her looking young.

“Kate Beckinsale is a beautiful woman who looked stunning on the red carpet at Cannes this year. There has been much speculation about plastic surgery in her past, but she has vehemently denied any types of treatment, including facelifts, fillers, threads, lasers, and Botox.
I don’t see any obvious signs of any of these treatments, although it is possible that she had some fillers and Botox done subtly and is denying it. Her lips look full, but that could be the make-up. Her cheeks and jawline look amazing. Plastic surgeons would be out of business if we could all age as gracefully as she has!”

“Adriana Lima is a beauty icon that had some work done to maintain her good looks. I don’t think she had any major surgery, but she had some volume added to her face with either filler, fat transfer, or both. It appears Adriana had volume added to her cheeks, temples, forehead, upper eyelids, lips, and jawline. She likely had Botox as well.”

Kylie Versoza looked youthful and exotic on the red carpet, as always. She likely had some lip filler and Botox, but besides that, she looks all natural. Her Filipino ethnicity has helped her stay looking young and fresh.Dr Michael K Newman is a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon And public speaker known for his stellar reputation and his philanthropic work. From Heartbreak to Summer Jam: Drew Angus’ ‘Broken Heart Last’ Resonate

Summer’s heat often comes with a rollercoaster of emotions. For some, it’s a time of love and adventure; for others, it might dredge up memories of loves lost. Yet, in this melting pot of emotions, Drew Angus and Matt Giella have penned a song that speaks to those very contrasts – “Broken Heart Last,” a track that’s a beautiful mix of classic Americana vibes and energetic pop-rock.
Hailing from the lively streets of Bridgeport, Connecticut, Drew Angus isn’t just another guy with a guitar; he’s a musical chef who knows how to mix different flavors to create something memorable. His songs don’t just offer melodies; they paint vivid pictures. Delve into his music and find yourself on a soulful journey where the old-world charm of Americana meets the upbeat pulse of modern tunes. Drew’s tunes take you back to simpler times, drawing from the classics like Tom Petty and The Beatles while adding contemporary touches that fans of John Mayer or Ben Rector would love.
Yet, to truly understand Drew, one must trace back to his roots. The streets of Bridgeport served as his playground and classroom. It’s where the rhythms of rock legends like The Rolling Stones and the deep storytelling of The Beatles shaped his musical inclinations. This influence is evident in his tunes. Drew’s mantra, “I sing for my supper,” isn’t just a saying; it’s a testament to his unwavering passion.
It’s hard to think that this independent talent, who once swayed to classic anthems in his living room, now shares the limelight with big names like Harry Styles and Nile Rogers. If you’ve ever been to a live performance featuring Drew with legends like Andrea Bocelli or Ann Willson, you’d understand the sheer energy and charisma he brings.
While Drew’s journey is impressive, this summer is all about “Broken Heart Last.” A collaboration with Matt Giella, this track delves into the emotional depths of love’s aftermath. As you sink into the lyrics, an upbeat rhythm lifts your spirit, reminding listeners that heartaches might last, but so does the healing power of music. The song doesn’t just ask how long heartbreak lingers; it offers a remedy – dance. Let the rhythm guide your feet, find release, and celebrate the moment.
Remember the moments when a particular song would trigger challenging memories, but its rhythm would make you dance anyway? That’s the allure of “Broken Heart Last“. Now available on all popular streaming platforms, this song is not just a tune; it’s therapy for anyone nursing the wounds of lost love. As it fills the airwaves this summer, the message is loud and clear: Let go, groove to the memories, and let the rhythm mend your heart.
For those keeping an ear to the ground, Drew Angus isn’t just a passing comet; he’s a force in the musical galaxy. And while “Broken Heart Last” is currently stealing the show, there’s a buzz about more captivating tunes from Drew’s to release later this year.
So, as the sun sets on another day, let Drew Angus’ tunes be your soundtrack, echoing the timeless tussle between love, loss, and the undying spirit to dance again.
